DH and I went to a killer hill right by our house. This hill is 900m in length. It starts with a slight incline and then ramps up fairly quickly. I ran up and down the hill 3 times for a total of 5.5km. It took me 40:48 to complete this workout. This was better than I expected. My first goal will to be able to run up this hill without stopping.
I enjoyed my first hill session! I look forward to seeing the improvement.
19km was finished this morning! The run went exactly according to plan. I was doing 10:1 splits. Last week i had some difficulty with my long run, but not this week. DH and i had decided we would get our long runs in first thing this morning so we could just enjoy the rest of our day. And enjoy we have. We took our dog and his best friend down to the river for a swim and a bit of a hike. When we got home we ate our subway outside on the deck with our books. An hour or so after lunch/dinner we walked our dog to the fairgrounds that are in town to indulge in some mini donuts. Now that we’re home we are doing some more reading and then off to a party tonight. This is such a wonderful day.
I was tired after my cardio heavy weekend. I was tired and it was raining, the perfect excuse. So instead of running, I made dinner. Then, the rain stopped. The rain stopped, and my mind knew that I should run. But, I didn’t want to. So instead of running, I watched an episode of Bones. The show ended, and I knew deep down that I should run. I put my running clothes on, climbed onto the bed, and began to pet my dog. Then, my husband asked my dog if he wanted to go for a run. At that moment, I was committed. My dog just gets too excited about the idea of going for a run to deny him. Before I knew it, we were out the door. As soon as my Brooks hit the pavement my mind and body both agreed they were running. We were off. 39:46 later, we were back and our run was over. 6 km done, I procrastinated and whined longer than it took me to complete my run. Now, I get to put a sticker on my training schedule.
It is 10:30, on my day off, and I am lounging in the bath having already ran my 8km. I needed to get this workout in early because DH and I want to play tennis, go golfing, and take our dog down to the river. It is going to be an awesome day outside! I am so glad my allergies are better and I can now actually enjoy spring.
I went to the pool this morning. My intentions were to try for 2000m. Unfortunately my body was not up for the increase yet. I was sneezing and coughing in the pool, which makes swimming and keeping my head under the water rather difficult. I ended up swimming 40 laps which is only 1000m. I am okay with that, I still have 8km to run tonight and then I might play a game of tennis.
My eating today has been good so far. Yesterday I started binging, but was able to stop myself before I did too much damage. Today I am working on drinking my water and putting good healthy foods in my body.
I was able to run today! So happy! My allergies are not just the sniffles and a slight cough, no more trouble breathing. I didn’t die after last night’s softball game, so I headed out for my training run. I did 6km in 40 minutes, I am pretty happy with that since it is my first run in 14 days. Here is hoping there are no more training setbacks on my road to a marathon.
The last two days have gone well. My allergies are still to bad to workout. Yesterday I attempted my 16k (inside on a treadmill) after 1 1/2km I gave up because I was coughing and couldn’t breathe. I haven’t gone outside since. I have been keeping to my minimum calorie allowance, because I am not exercising. I did this by turning down a piece of my own birthday cake and only having half a bun with my burger. I felt really good about my decision, even though my m-in-law said I really should have a piece of cake.
Tomorrow I am going to try swimming again, and I am going to softball (even if it kills me). I have already planned most of my food for tomorrow.
I woke up and had one of my favourite breakfasts, two fried eggs with toast, yoghurt and fruit (watermelon). I then headed to the pool, bringing my swimsuit this time.
At the pool. I swam about 300m before I started to feel terrible. I was feeling tired, crampy, and dizzy. I decided it just wasn’t happening and sat in the hot tub a few minutes before getting showered and dressed.
Snack was yoghurt, watermelon, and a biscuit from the previous day.
Lunch was leftover chicken souvlaki, very tasty.
At snack time I had two more biscuits, and a handful of smarties. Uh oh.
When i got home I made dinner. We had taco salad. After dinner, I snacked on candy melts (they don’t taste great but they are the closest to candy I have in the house)
I went for my 6km training run, it went really well. I wasn’t feeling tired, and my hamstrings weren’t tight. Pooch and I finished in 39 minutes, and one of us had to stop and do he business. I felt really good about it.
I watched a tv show, and then went to l lay down with a towel over my eyes. My eyes are crazy itchy and hurting from my allergies so I needed to give them a rest. I must not have been. Touching them during the night because they were not too red when I woke up.
Not a good food day, but at least it was a good run.
Finding something for breakfast and lunch was tricky today. Because we were gone all weekend, I didn’t have an opportunity to stock up on fruits and vegetables. Luckily, we still had milk in the fridge. For breakfast, I had Special K Satistfaction cereal w/ milk and yoghurt.
I went to the pool for work. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my swimsuit in my gym bag. I guess I put in a pair of shorts instead of my swimsuit. I din’t even having running shoes with me, so my workout was cancelled. I was very disappointed.
Because I didn’t get my workout in, I wasn’t hungry come recess. I had brought a yoghurt and a cheese string, but I didn’t end up eating them because I easn’thungry.
Lunch was chicken and carrots with dip. I had precooked a few chicken breasts a while back and stuck them in the freezer. They turned out super handy when I was packing my lunch for the day. Yeah for planning ahead!
I did baking in my class and so I had a small orange scone with carrots for a snack. I had another scone after school let out. Normally this was a mistake, buti was very under my calories for the day, so itwasagood a good thing I splurged.
I checked ut the new Sobey’s in Beaumont after school I stocked up on lots of delicious fruits and vegetables for the week. I like having several dinners in my arsenal that are easy to remember the ingredients for, easy to prepare, and healthy.
For dinner we had a chicken caesar salad. We wolfed it down and heading off to ball.
I got to pitch for two innings at softball again. I was not near as nervous pitching today.
When DH and I got home from ball, we took our dog for a walk. My parents didn’t all him when they were puppy sitting all weekend and we totally neglected him today, this was a long overdue walk. We only went about 20 minutes, because it was bedtime, but it felt nice.
Then, I crawled into bed. Sometimes rest days feel just as busy as run days.
